Find Your Device
Choose your Smarter model for a relevant setup note. For detailed steps, expand the guides below.
Getting Started
Connect your box and finish the initial setup.
First-Time TV Box Setup
- Connect the TV box to a TV HDMI port using a suitable HDMI cable.
- Connect the power adapter supplied with the device. Do not substitute an unverified adapter.
- Set your TV to the matching HDMI input.
- Follow the on-screen language, network, and account prompts as offered by your model.
- Check that the picture and remote respond before installing apps.
Connect to Wi-Fi
- Open Settings, then find Network & Internet or Wi-Fi (menu names vary).
- Choose your wireless network and enter its password.
- If it fails, verify that the router is online and the box supports the network band.
- Restart the TV box and router if needed; retry from near the router.
Remotes & Pairing
Check remote type and device compatibility.
Pair a Bluetooth Remote
- Insert fresh batteries and place the remote near the TV box.
- Open the device Bluetooth or Remotes & Accessories pairing screen, if present.
- For a compatible Smarter X-Pro BT remote, try holding Back + OK to start pairing.
- Follow the TV box prompts. Pairing controls differ by remote and model; check the supplied manual.
Remote Not Working
- Replace or reseat batteries, checking polarity.
- Identify the remote connection type: IR requires line of sight; some 2.4 GHz RF models need a USB receiver; Bluetooth needs pairing.
- For IR, aim at the box and remove obstructions. For RF, check the USB receiver.
- Restart the device and retry pairing only where supported.
Wi-Fi & Network
Restore a stable internet connection.
Ethernet Connection
- If your box has an Ethernet port, connect it to a router or switch with a network cable.
- Open network settings and confirm the wired connection is detected.
- Test an app or webpage requiring internet.
- Try a different cable or router port if not detected.
Connected to Wi-Fi but No Internet
- Test the same Wi-Fi network on another device.
- Restart the router and TV box.
- Forget the Wi-Fi network and reconnect with the correct password.
- If a custom DNS, proxy, or VPN is configured, check whether it causes the issue.
- Ask your internet provider for help if other devices also have no access.
Picture & Sound
Fix HDMI display and audio problems.
No Signal or Black Screen
- Confirm the TV is on the correct HDMI input.
- Check that the TV box power indicator is on, if your model has one.
- Reconnect HDMI at both ends and try another cable or TV HDMI port.
- Restart the TV box and TV.
- Do not attempt an unfamiliar recovery menu or firmware flash; contact support if there is still no image.
No Sound on 4K Videos
- Check TV volume and mute and test a different video or application.
- If available, change the TV box audio output to PCM or Stereo instead of unsupported bitstream or passthrough.
- Test at 1080p as a diagnostic step; different files may use incompatible audio codecs.
- Restart the TV box and confirm HDMI is connected directly to the TV.
- If other content plays sound, report the affected video format and app to support.
Applications & Performance
Solve buffering, freezing, and storage issues.
Streaming Buffers or Freezes
- Test your internet connection and restart the router and TV box.
- Try a wired connection if supported; move closer to your router for Wi-Fi.
- Close unused apps and test a second legitimate streaming app.
- Lower playback resolution temporarily to diagnose bandwidth limitations.
- Third-party service or app outages may require help from that service provider.
Apps Crash or Run Slowly
- Restart the box.
- Open Settings > Apps, select the affected app, and clear its cache if the option exists.
- Check for available free storage and uninstall unused apps.
- Install official app updates from a trusted source.
- Avoid firmware files that are not verified for your exact device model.
Maintenance & Support
Protect your data and get help when needed.
Low Storage Space
- Open Settings > Storage (if available) to see what is using space.
- Remove unused apps and downloaded files you no longer need.
- Clear individual app caches where appropriate.
- Do not delete unfamiliar system files or use untrusted cleanup applications.
Factory Reset as a Last Resort
- Back up personal files, app settings, and credentials before proceeding. A factory reset may remove locally stored information.
- Confirm you know your account logins and that the issue cannot be fixed another way.
- If supported, use Settings > Device Preferences/System > Reset or Factory data reset; wording varies.
- Follow on-screen prompts without interrupting power.
- If the reset option is missing or the box will not boot, contact JKonstore support before trying hardware recovery.
